This is our story

Matt Weeks moved to Alberta at the age of 18 with a high school friend. After a couple of years living the small town Mountain lifestyle, Matt made his move to Edmonton to start his career in Construction. Being raised by a carpenter and working for his fathers renovation business in New Brunswick during the summers, swinging a hammer was second nature. Matt started out framing houses for a year, then had the opportunity to start work for PCL. Matt took full advantage of every second. Completing his Carpentry apprenticeship to become a Red Seal Journeyman Carpenter and taking numerous different courses to build on industry standards and management courses.

It was not until Matt was building his own first house that he realized how different and hard it was to find a builder and trades in the residential side of the industry that shared the same values. That was when in 2011, Matt started Ridgeline Improvements. Matt has taken what he learnt from Canada’s top Construction Company and applied it to the smaller scale of Residential Home Building and Renovations.

Your Local Contractor

Our Team

In Edmonton you have lots of choices for a General Contractor.  Which is great for you, the homeowner.

It is really important to feel comfortable with the General Contractor you choose for your residential renovation since they will be in your personal space for the duration of the renovation and the one tasked with bringing your renovation dream to life.

As a locally owned and operated company we value each and every customer that invites us into their home. When Ridgeline Improvements was started in 2011, it was the goal to provide renovations that meet and exceed clients’ expectations.

We believe that every homeowner deserves exceptional quality, reliable service, and affordable prices when renovating or remodelling their home.  In order to provide the experience we feel our clients deserve, we have surrounded ourselves with a team of people who are inline with our beliefs.

That crew has grown over the years.  In addition to our Owner/Project Manager/Sales Rep, we currently employ Lead Carpenters, an Apprentice, a General Labourer and an Office Manager.  As part of building trust we thought you might be interested in some fun facts about our crew.

Our Process

At Ridgeline Improvements, we start every project by getting to know you and the vision for your home. We find out what your dream outcome is, define your budget and work back to establish the best plan for your project.

Our first in person meeting with you will be in the comfort of your own home. We will discuss your renovation and what you would like to accomplish, we will review the space and scope of work with you and we will take measurements of the space to help us build our estimate.

After our first meeting we will do our research to build you an initial budget that reflects the renovation you are looking for. During the follow up meeting you will be presented with a detailed scope of work, preliminary budget and estimated timeline.

Once you have approved the initial budget for your renovation you will work with us to make the material selections for your renovation. You will be shown the finishes that fit with in your initial budget to help you stay on track.

Once you have made your final material selections we will review to ensure that you are still within your initial budget. If any of the material selections have pushed you over that initial budget price we will discuss and you will be presented with a final construction budget to approve. Once approved we will stick to our agreed upon price, unless you make changes to the scope of work during construction.

As soon as the renovation contract is signed we will begin ordering materials and arranging any engineered drawings or permits that may be required. While we are working hard behind the scenes to get your renovation up and running, you can kick back and relax, knowing you are in good hands.

At this point we are actively in your home working on your renovation. You will be provided with updates and weekly site meetings. As your project nears the end, we will arrange a walk through with you to review your renovation and answer any final questions you may have.
